Twin Bridges Floating Flotilla & Alumni Weekend
The Flotilla is our river parade and a Twin Bridges tradition. Each summer, folks take to the Beaverhead in rafts, drift boats, kayaks, and just about anything that floats, all decorated to match the year’s theme.
The river flows through the heart of our valley, passing by the fairgrounds, working lands, and local businesses that define the town's character and sustain its way of life. When the Flotilla comes through, people gather along the banks to watch, visit, and take it all in. It brings together families, neighbors, local businesses, and visitors for a day that reflects the best of our community and the summer season we all look forward to.
The weekend also includes the Twin Bridges Alumni Banquet, which brings generations together for an evening of connection, recognition, and community pride. Held Saturday evening, the banquet celebrates local roots while supporting the future, with scholarships awarded to students continuing their education.
Throughout the weekend, you can expect many of the longtime favorites, along with a few thoughtful additions, as we continue to build it back to what it has been at its best.
We’re looking to grow participation on the river and throughout the town, and welcome additional float entries, ideas, and community partnerships to help expand the event. As the weekend continues to grow, we see it becoming not just a local tradition, but a draw for the broader region.

The Twin Bridges Farmers Market is a summer staple and a favorite stop during Flotilla Weekend. Held at City Park from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays (May - September), the market brings together local growers, makers, and vendors offering everything from fresh produce and baked goods to handmade items and locally made treasures.
Flotilla weekend is one of the biggest days of the season, with a strong turnout of vendors, visitors, and shoppers. It’s a good day to walk the booths, visit with neighbors, and pick up something local before heading to the river or the rest of the day’s events.
The Horseshoe Tournament is a long-standing part of Flotilla Weekend, held at the fairgrounds. It kicks off at 9:00 a.m., with participants gathering at the horseshoe pits to sign up and join in. Play typically follows a bracket-style format, with a mix of returning players and first-timers.
Recent improvements to the pits, including repairs and the addition of a new box, are helping carry the tradition forward. Whether you’re competing or just stopping by to watch, it’s a steady favorite and another way to take in the weekend.
The Community BBQ runs from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., usually set up on the fairgrounds side of the river, near the horseshoe pits. Community volunteers offer a simple, easy lunch in the middle of a full day of events. Burgers or hot dogs, chips, and a drink are available for a small cost, with proceeds supporting the event.
Kids often find nearby space to play, with volunteers providing stomp rocket supplies.
The Floating River Parade is the centerpiece of Flotilla Weekend, taking place on the Beaverhead River at 12:00 p.m., with floats lining up around 11:30 a.m. Participants launch upstream and float past town in rafts, drift boats, kayaks, and just about anything that floats, decorated to match the year’s theme (Stars, Stripes & Montana Skies).
You’ll see everything from simple setups to full group efforts, all drifting past crowds gathered along the banks. Float pre-registration is not required, but it is encouraged to help with planning and announcements. Participants can also register on the morning of at the fairgrounds near the put-in. Whether you’re on the water or watching from shore, it’s one of the highlights of the weekend and a great way to be part of it. Click here to pre-register your float!
The Duck Races follow directly after the Floating River Parade and keep the action going along the river. Once the last floats pass through, ducks are released and make their way downstream as the crowd watches to see which one comes out ahead.

Join us for the Twin Bridges Cruise In Car Show! An all-day community event hosted by Route 287 Trading Company. Registration closes at 10 am. $10 per vehicle. A raffle ticket is included with registration. Pre-register via email at route287trading@gmail.com.

The 94th Annual Twin Bridges Alumni Banquet will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 6:00 PM at Twin Bridges High School.
This hallmark event brings together generations of Twin Bridges alumni and their families for an evening of connection and celebration. Dinner tickets are $25, with catering by Pig Out BBQ.
While the event is centered around alumni, all community members are welcome to attend. This year’s banquet will honor the Miotke Family for their deep roots in the valley and recognize retired educator Jody Sandru for her lasting impact on local students. The evening will also include Hall of Fame inductions and the annual athletic raffle.
During the banquet, the Alumni Association plans to award approximately $15,000 in scholarships to support local students as they continue their education.
Reservations are requested by July 12 to help with planning.
The Alumni Association also welcomes volunteers and community support in organizing and hosting the event. If you’re interested in helping or getting involved, they would love to hear from you.
